Then came the transistor!!! Poor-sounding solid state amplifiers were horrible sounding on the popular horn loudspeakers of the 1950's.

Horn loudspeakers were delegated to professional and sound reinforcement applications.

These three-way loudspeaker systems are built with the finest components available today. These components consist of Alnico and Cobalt magnets, Carbon fiber cones, Beryllium diaphragms, with 8 and 16 ohm assemblies, result in the lowest distortion and the lowest coloration of any loudspeaker system EVER.

The cabinet, which houses all these wonderful components, is designed and reinforced to reduce sonic resonance's commonly associated with larger horn systems.

The T-5 system, while the smallest of our "T" series sytems to date, was the most difficult to design.

The T-5 system was not built to fit a price point. Music enthusiasts with space restraints deserve the opportunity to enjoy a musical experience on the same scale as those who can fit a T-1 or T-3 into their music rooms.

Our only design consideration, which was not fully obained, was extremely high efficiency. While at 94 db at 1 watt 1 meter is not considered low effiency, we would have liked to have it higher so 2A3 and 45 SE type amplifiers could be used. This could not happen without seriously compromising this system's superb low frequency.

A pair of 11" alnico low frequency drivers prodives the foundation for the 1" throat alnico midrange driver and the high frequency driver, which completes this system's 3-way configuration. This is the same 1" driver use din our Studio Standard II and IIb systems. The tweeter is the same as we use in all of our TAD based systems.

The finest quality components are used in our crossovers along with full control of both the midrange and tweeter volume to suit each listener's tastes.

Classic Audio Reproduction is pleased to announce its "POINT 3" version of its T-1 and T-3 systems.

Through the design and testing process of our T-5 system we discovered a slight sacrifice in low frequency speed by insisting on the lowest 2/3rd of an octave of reproduction.

The "POINT 3" version of each of these systems are now using T.A.D. TL-1601b and TL-1602 Woofers. A newly designed low-pass filter board is also employed. Call for details.
